geovalin
Khmer Times/Naomi Collett Ritz SIEM REAP (Khmer Times) – Thailand has stopped foreigners leaving for day trips to immediately return and renew their visas, but it is having little impact on Cambodians and foreigners visiting from this side of the border. No problems are being reported at the various land borders between the two countries. Thailand allows many foreigners to enter the country on a visa-on-arrival scheme, allowing 30 days in the country if arriving by air and two weeks if by road. read more: http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/16098/cambodia-unfazed-by-thai-visa-changes/
ajarnmarc
Arriving on the Iron Horse in the sky, now seems like such a deal with 30 days granted; compared to just 15 days, if you arrive on foot or by buffalo.

Sheryl
See here for information on visas http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/145841-cambodia-visa/ Basically you enter on a regular (not tourist) visa which can be obtained on arrival, then extend it for one year at any travel agency and repeat yearly. The one year extension allows multiple entries, costs a bit under US $300. Before doing this I recommend you visit first to see if it suits you. Visas are much easier but there are other pluses and minuses to consider. The people are very friendly and welcoming, but cost of living in PP is higher than in CM especially rents and utilities. Siem Reap a little less but still more than in CM. Medical care is extremely substandard so need to plan on leaving the country for medical care and have appropriate insurance for this.
