I think to change may visa to Non O marriage visa, but for that need a bank account with 400,000 baht balance.

But to make a bank account first , bank need a work permit or Non O visa.

How to do?

Sorry for grammar.

For a Non Imm O Visa based on marriage you can get in Savanakhet Laos without any money in the bank.

To apply for a 12 Month Extension based on marriage you need 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank.

Keep trying and you will get one.

Even different branches or different staff in the same bank.

He does not need to go abroad as he has already a non-immi-B. It is possible to convert it to O. But it depends on the local immigration and whatever they want. To play save I would deposit the funds. Either way.

For the bank account, you can go to the banks and show them your B visa. Assuming you have no WP. This is what they nowadays always want. K-Bank was an old favorite. Also BKK Bank. Try one of the foreigners like CIMB or UOB. Eventually you will be successful.

If not, get proof, that you have sufficient funds abroad, immi may request this to give you a O visa for 3 months, after this an extension of stay (and then you really need the money in the country) is possible.

Note that the account must be in your name only, no shared accounts.

Good luck!

Try different branches in an area that's likely to have quite a few farang customers already.

I opened an account at Bangkok Bank while here on a visa exempt entry or tourist visa (admittedly many years ago), can't remember which and others have done the same even recently.

As said above, the account should be in your name only, but you can take your wife with you to do some of the talking. Might even try the branch where she has an account. It is possible. Keep trying.

If you have provable, verified income of Baht 40,000 a month, you could use that when applying for the extension of stay based on marriage.

It is not possible to convert a non-b visa to a non-o visa. Only a tourist visa or visa exempt entry can be converted.

At some offices he might be able to apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage using the non-b visa entry but the 400k baht would need to be in the bank for 2 months.

To the OP if you can get the bank account opened and the money in the bank soon enough you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife that would give you the 2 months for the money to be in the bank.

You should check with your local immigration office to find out if they will allow you to apply for the one year extension with the non-b visa entry you have now.

If not you should go out and get a singe entry non-o visa at a nearby embassy or consulate.

Since you are married to a Thai you wife can act a reference to open your account. She will need a copy of her house book and her ID card to do it.
