Trees on Jomtien Sai 2

Featured Replies

There have been a lot of complaints regarding the re-modeling of Jomien beach and I agree. But on the positive side we have the new small palm trees in the middle of Jomtien Sai 2 and Thapraya, I really like that change!

I do too, I said to a friend how nice it would look when the trees have grown and matured.

He replied that he agreed though when the larger trees are blown over on to cars in a storm, they won't be so popular.

I think they look nice too. They are buried quite deep and I think they will resist storms. Whether they will resist Chinese tour buses whizzing past is another matter.

Be nice if they light them up at Christmas, but yes a positive step

Fantastic idea.

They've got something right for a change.

The person who thought of it should get a medal! !!

I think the medal may have come in the form of a brown envelope from whoever sold them all those trees.

post-62639-0-91812200-1443237920_thumb.jhope they will clear the streets from this

but indeed good job

Although a very pleasant improvement. i did notice that in some sections the

trees have been planted very close together.

Wouldn't that cause a problem when they grow larger and start to intertwine?

My missus told me that they were 4000THB per tree.

I'm guessing that included planting & ongoing maintainence because those trees stretch all the way from the flyover to Najomtien.

Got to be 4kms so a nice few million being spent.

Does indeed look the part but the road surface by the market & roundabout are so bad as to be dangerous especially for motorbikes & should be dealt with as a matter of urgency

looks nice,

Could have fixed the road first,

But hey, its a start.

Think they missed the trees on the roundabout giggle.gif

Cost 4000 but likely real cost under 2000 I will bet as someone is likely pocketing the difference. I think as mentioned by previous poster the trees are too close together. Why not put larger more mature trees in place that actually provide shade and give an exotic look. It is nice to see something is done to add foliage while at the same time they cut all the trees along the beach. Amazing Thailand.

It was Nong Nooch, who are also in charge of the Beach walkway mess. Who owns Nong Nooch? Anyone know? Any relation to the mayor?
