Seeking Help Regarding Solenoids For Mitsubishi L 200 2.8. Year 1998

Featured Replies

Dear expats and experts,

Not wanting to go back into details that date back three weeks ago, when I thought something must be wrong that I'd lost a lot of power.

Now, it seems that I'm very close to the last problem, which is the valve at the inlet manifold. Mitsubishi ordered a new one, put it in, just to find out that there's nothing wrong with mine. It didn't work.

There're two coils, please see photos, the upper coil should open the valve at the manifold. I've tried the resistance of the new coils, got the same results on mine, that are relatively new.

The upper vacuum tube goes to the valve that doesn't work. Vacuum gets into the lower coil, which is connected to the upper one, via an under pressure/vacuum tube.

There're two wires at each coil, got my perfect 13.8 volts, but when I check for minus, there's no ground/ minus.

I've tried to find something online, but wasn't successful. I'd deeply appreciate if somebody on this forum knows more about such an easy system.than i do.

Will never go back to Mitsubishi, they changed the regulator on top of the Diesel pump and told me that this was the problem, after more than five hours? They said the valve would work. But it didn't.

I sat at Mitsubishi yesterday for more than five hours, showed them how to check a coil, by only using an Ohmmeter, but then decided to not let them lose too much face. Then they really lied right into my face, wanted to have 500 baht for labor and the change of the regulator.

How can they even try to fix any ABS issues some people might have, etc????

Wife got really angry, because we're invited to a retirement arty 40 km away.

Please no nonsense replies, I've really got enough with these crooks who call themselves mechanics, but can't even check a valve.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thanks a lot for taking the time. wai2.gif

P.S the black/white wires are carrying plus. The blue/red ones should deliver minus, but I do not know if that's happening through the ECU, or the regulator on top of the Diesel Pump..

P.S. Sorry for coming up with this topic again. My apologies. wai2.gif
