I have a new epson L555 printer and I went to the wifi wizard and connected to my wifi via my HTC mobile. I set it up correctly on the printer following the instructions below. Then I went to my new macbook pro where the wifi is also connected. I opened up Word and tried to print a page but it says the printer is offline. I have downloaded the printer drivers and thus it cant be that. How does one print from wifi if the instructions below have been carried out...

Selecting Wireless Network Settings From the Control Panel
You can select or change wireless network settings using your product control panel.

To install your product on a wireless network, follow the instructions on the Start Here sheet and install the necessary software from the product CD. The installer program guides you through network setup.

Note: Breakdown or repair of this product may cause loss of fax and network data and settings. Epson is not responsible for backing up or recovering data and settings during or after the warranty period. We recommend that you make your own backup or print out your fax and network data and settings.
  1. Press the wifi_setup_icon_wf2510_2540.jpgConfigurar Wi-Fi button. You see this screen:

  2. Press the OK button to select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
  3. Press the up or down arrow buttons to select the name of your wireless network and press the OKbutton. If you do not see your wireless network's name, you can enter it manually.
Note: To enter the wireless network name manually, select Other SSIDs and press the OK button. Enter your network name as described in the next step.
  4. Enter your wireless password (or network name and then password).

    • Press the numeric keypad buttons repeatedly to scroll through characters (uppercase, lowercase, or numbers).
    • To select a symbol, press 1 repeatedly.
    • To move the cursor or enter a space, press the right arrow button.
    • To delete characters, press the left arrow button.
    • When you finish entering characters, press the OK button.
  5. Press 2 if you want to print a network status report, or 1 if not. The WiFi light should now be on, but not flashing.
Note: If the WiFi light is off, you may have selected the wrong network name or entered the password incorrectly. Repeat these steps to try again.

WiFi printers like your Epson L555 printer are meant to function with Consumer/Residential Routers and/or WiFi Access Points.

It could be that if you are using your HTC Mobilephone Handset in WiFi Tether mode to allow connected devices to share its Internet that the phone's tether software may not allow such connected devices to intercommunicate (so not providing full Wireless LAN function). To test this, you'll need to find out what IP address the printer was issues and see if your MBPro can ping that LAN IP Address.

Could it be that you have to make it to your default printer first? Just saying....facepalm.gif

P.S. You wouldn't have such problems with a brother, bro. thumbsup.gif

I have the same printer. There is a button on the right side of the printer that you have to press (at work now, cannot remember the name) and press it then see if your Mac finds it as enabled. I use both Windows and Macs on mine and works wonders.
