Europe's Visa

Recommended Posts

if someone i know she has thai passport, if we going to europe ( spain , swiss, france, italy ) .Does she needs to ask for visa ? Is it gonna be multiple visa ? appritiate all answers

thanks

She'll have to get an EU visa at one of the EU countries' embassy (my guess would be the first-in-line you'll visit). Switzerland is an island within the EU (= not an EU member), but they'll accept the EU visa. All said: all she needs is ONE visa.

Good luck! :o

Thai nationals need a visa to visit any European country.

As well as Vinny's link above, see also Schengen Agreement.

The 1985 Schengen Agreement is an agreement among European states which allows for common policy on the temporary entry of persons (including the Schengen visa) and a border system. A total of 26 countries – including all European Union states except the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom, but including non-EU members Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland – have signed the agreement and 15 have implemented it so far.
If visiting one or more of the Schengen states then you apply at the embassy of the country you intend to visit first. The visa is multi entry, and allows you to visit any other Schengen state as well.

It does not allow you to visit a non Schengen state, e.g. the UK or Republic of Ireland. If you wish to visit a non Schengen state then you will need to obtain a visa for that country before leaving Thailand.
