PHUKET: Residents and businesses in Cherng Talay will be without power supply and mains water supply on Saturday (Oct 3) as workers shut down high-voltage cables that will leave local mains water supply pumps inoperable.

The electricity supply will be cut off so workers from the Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority Thalang office can carry out maintenance, said an announcement issued by the Cherng Talay Tambon Administration Organisation (OrBorTor) office today (Oct 2).

“They must shut down the high-voltage power, which will mains supply pumps serving residents and businesses in the area will not be working,” said the notice.

However, the notice did not specify the affected area, but only defined it as “the area surrounding the Cherng Talay OrBorTor office”.

The outage will be from 9am to 2pm.

“So, please prepare water enough for tomorrow,” said the notice.

The notice also included: “For more information, contact Cherng Talay OrBorTor at 076-324440.”

However, the office closed at 4:30pm and will reopen at 8:30am on Monday.

Why dont they ever do repairs at a time when no one needs it?

why do they choose a PEAK time: Weekend !!

its the same in my condo building...

they do Electric Repairs always at 10pm and shut off all the elevators and electric for 4 hours (twice per year!!)

honestly, where are their brains ?? !!

Repairs and Maintenance should be done when it LEAST affects people. (at a time when no one is home, or not needing electric).

Oh dear. Lose electrics for four hours twice a year, how do you manage? And you have also been given notice of the power and water cut offs, so you can make arrangements. You make all us up country residents, who have a power cut at the first crack of thunder, look like pioneers opening up America, or exploring the dark continent two hundred years ago.
