From seed to fortune: The Chearavanont family’s billion-dollar rise
My understanding is there are only a small handfull of families that control the retail and food/grocer industries in Thailand. The two biggest, the above CP family and the creators of the Central Patanna family are at the top of the heap. The latter (I recall) owns all the Central group of shopping centers and department stores, Robinson, Power Buy, Super Sports, Big-C, Tops, (maybe Villa), B2S, Office Mate, Centara Hotels Group, and many other subsidiairies including property development (office and residential), and many others. The other few of that small handful are Bill Heneke who owns Minor Foods (I think that is KFC, Pizza Company, DQ, others), the family behind the Mall Group (Paragom, Em Quartier, and all the other "M" malls). And a few other super-rich like the Chang liquor baron. At the end of the day, it's quite difficult in the major cities to find any real competition other than the above. There is a second tier that is still way up there, like the owners of hospitality chains (e.g. another hotel groups like Dusit, and food subsidiaries like Tim Hortons). -

The Scientists and Spies Who Questioned Covid’s Origins
Another example of the media pushing the its a conspiracy angle for anyone that doesn't believe the narrative. U.S. government debunks COVID lab-leak conspiracy theory, enraging conspiracy theorists The lab-leak conspiracists were certain that the report would validate their contentions, for which there has never been any valid scientific evidence. https://archive.ph/1EKe8 https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2023-06-26/u-s-government-debunks-covid-lab-leak-conspiracy-theory-enraging-conspiracy-theorists -

Is Earth round or flat❓
Sure. Go to these places and your chance of survival is at extreme risk. Doesn't change the fact that anyone who has the money can venture to inland regions of Antarctica and the South Pole. Flerfs say you can't. Well the fact is you can. All the people who go there in summer will see is a 24 hour sun. Flerfs say this isn't possible. I'm sorry but having any belief system IMHO defies reality. The flat earth belief is one of these systems of belief. It's believed by very few people, pushed by grifters and accepted as truth by the gullible. Bit like religion. -

The Scientists and Spies Who Questioned Covid’s Origins
The problem with many of the lab leak proponents is that they're often political partisans (or right-wing echoing news outlets) who continue to advance their theory pretty much in the absence of any real pertinent facts to directly support it. I see the nonsense Republican-led U.S. House subcommittee investigating the origins of COVID issued its final report earlier this month concluding COVID came from a lab leak. But as the following Science journal article on the Republicans' report notes: "The committee’s 520-page report, released on 2 December, offers no new direct evidence of a lab leak, but summarizes a circumstantial case, including that the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) used NIAID money to conduct “gain-of-function” studies that modified distantly related coronaviruses. [emphasis added] ... Democrats on the panel released their own report challenging many of their colleagues’ conclusions about COVID-19 origins. They conclude, for example, that the viruses studied at WIV with EcoHealth funding were too distantly related to SARS-CoV-2 to cause the pandemic." https://www.science.org/content/article/house-panel-concludes-covid-19-pandemic-came-lab-leak That final conclusion reported above is one that Dr. Fauci and other scientists have repeatedly reinforced. "The definition of “gain of function” covers both general research and especially risky experiments to “enhance” the ability of potentially pandemic pathogens to spread or cause severe disease in humans. Fauci stressed he [in rejecting Republicans' claims] was using the risky experiment definition, saying “it would be molecularly impossible” for the bat viruses studied with EcoHealth’s funds to be turned into the virus that caused the pandemic." Introduction to Personal Income Tax in Thailand
I would like to get my understanding of "First In, First Out" confirmed in the context of a U.S. account where accessible and non-accessible to Thai tax is MIXED. The account is used to transfer funds into Thailand. I will do this by example. Deposit of 10K non accessible into the U.S. mixed account. Deposit of 15K accessible into the U.S. mixed account. Deposit of 20K non accessible into the U.S. mixed account. Transfer of 12K into Thailand. Only 2K of that 12K accessible as the "first in" 10K was non accessible. Transfer of 15K into Thailand. The remaining 13K of the 15K accessible plus 2K non accessible. Does this example reflect a correct understanding of "First In First Out" or not? If not, what am I getting wrong? -
