Indeed... Education is better, grades are better (in most cases)... Kids have more access to resources... Sure, there are a visibly minority, the outliers who are poorly behaved and more noticable, but isn't that true of any generation ? Every generation also has its 'miserable boomers' who berate later generations and claim they are devolving - if any of that were true we actually would be 'devolving' rather than developing at the astronomically fast rates we are.... There is a saying... 'just because the 100m record gets broken, 100m doesn't get any shorter"... .. and the same is said of education, because more kids do better, it doesn't mean exams are getting easier - it means teachers are getting better at teaching, kids are getting better at learning. If you want an example of that - Try the 11+ Examination... Given the evidence from this forum, its clear that many would seriously struggle... ... just take a look at the non-verbal reasoning questions - and remember, these are for a 10 year old. -

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Did someone manage to get an LTR with the following documents and timeline Nov-Dec old year: Proof of passive income 80K capital gains from brokerage Jan-Feb next year: Proof of passive income 80K capital gains from brokerage and then applied in March for an LTR? I know they do not really like capital gains but for all I understand they are likely to accept it. There will be no tax return docs in this timeline. Thanks! -

Appeal Launched for British Teacher Gravely Injured in Thailand Crash
I was thinking the same thing.... someone prompted Thai news to make a sweet story about this man and his medical problem. But the story reads he was an agent. Not a teacher. We all know how agents work in Thailand. So give him the benefit of being an all around nice guy. Where is his work permit and insurance from the company that hires him to find teachers for their schools? Where is his insurance as required to be in Thailand if he is on a tourist visa and working illegally? Seems someone in the news failed to address anything out of the ordinary for this really all-around great guy that only one foreigner has spoken for. Then the family? runs a gofundme page to pay for all his medical bills? What about sending him back to his country and let Mommy and Daddies insurance and health coverage pay for it all? I am sorry the guy had a really bad Accident.. feel bad he lost a leg. But other parts of the story do not add up. -

It will induce inflation in several ways (in case Trump does what he promised to do), taking into account that unemployment is already low, and that the number of U.S. born joining the job market is lower than the number of baby boomers retiring. There 's a gap of around 2 millions per year. - in order to fill vacant positions, wages will go up, so farmers and the agro-business in general will have to increase prices in order to survive, - in case the agro-business succeeds to attract American workers to what are mainly <deleted> jobs, the non agro businesses may have to increase wages to keep their current employees, - if they cannot attract American workers, agro output will decrease, which will also fuel inflation. And, of course, at the same time, prices of imported good will increase because of higher tarifs (again, if Trump does what he said).
