Heavy rain forecast nationwide today

BANGKOK, 12 October 2015 (NNT) - The North and Northeast of Thailand will continue to experience heavy rain and thundershowers, as a low pressure system is expanding over the upper regions of the country.


According to the Meteorological Department, most areas of the Central Plains, the East Coast and the South are also likely to experience similar weather conditions today, due to a monsoon trough currently moving across central Thailand toward the South.

Flood and mudslide warnings have been issued to residents living in these parts of Thailand. They are urged to exercise caution when leaving their homes. It will also rain heavily in most districts of Bangkok and its vicinity.

New PM's Office Permanent Secretary vows to work for Thai public

BANGKOK, 12 October 2015 (NNT) - A new Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office vows to work for Thai people, as he officially begins his new role today.


Police General Aek Angsananont, who was recently appointed Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, has received a warm welcome as he arrived to his new office at the Government House.

The new Permanent Secretary said he feels no pressure in his new role, which he likened to his previous role serving the Thai public as a police officer. He said he has also been advised by his predecessor, M.L. Panadda Diskul, to expand public channels for complaints as a way of addressing the people's concerns.

Police General Aek will be preparing for another biking event ‘Bike for Dad’ and His Majesty the King’s Birthday Celebration on December 5th, as well as other ceremonies next year.
