A black magician was jailed 20 years for public fraud and sexually assaults

BANGKOK: -- A man who claimed to be an expert in black magic was sentenced to 22 years and eight months imprisonment after he was found guilty of public fraud, fraud and illegal possession of firearms by the Criminal Court.

Premier expresses concerns over haze situation

BANGKOK, 13 October 2015 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed concerns over haze problems in seven southern provinces of Thailand.


The authorities were instructed to quickly provide assistance to the affected people and take relief measures in Phuket, Surat Thani, Songkhla, Satun, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. For instance, the relief measures include the spraying of water to reduce dust, the distributing of hygienic masks to local hospitals and the preparing of medicine and medical supplies.

In addition, the authorities wer assigned to discuss the issue with neighboring countries to find sustainable measures to prevent and tackle haze problems.

Those who have illnesses caused by the haze or are in need of help from the authorities may contact an emergency hotline 1669 around the clock.

ISOC doubts BRN’s latest statement

BANGKOK: -- ISOC spokesman Maj-Gen Banpote Poonpien, in his capacity as the spokesman of the government’s peace talks team, said Tuesday that initial finding could not yet confirm the authenticity of the statement but he conceded that some of the contents in the statement were a repetition of what used to be presented publicly.

Finance Minister Apisak the richest minister in Gen Prayut’s cabinet

BANGKOK: -- Finance Minister Apisak Tantiworawong is the richest cabinet member with a net worth of 394 million baht whereas Deputy Prime Minister Admiral Narong Pipatthanasai is the “poorest” of all the ministers with 13 million baht worth of assets and 2.4 million baht debt, according to the figures of assets and liabilities of the cabinet ministers of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha released by the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Banana boat driver downs after rescuing girl

CHONBURI: -- A banana boat driver drowned in Bang Saen Sea in Chon Buri Tuesday after he rescued a girl falling from his banana balloon.


The 64-year-old driver, Pong Wechkama, jumped into the sea to rescue a nin-year-old girl after she fell off from the balloon at 9:30 am.


The girl was among five girls riding the banana boat.


Rescuers spent two hours combing the seabed before they found Pong's body.

Patong Carnival aims to draw 20,000 visitors

Assets and liabilities of Prayut administration disclosed

BANGKOK, 13 October 2015 (NNT) - The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on Tuesday released a list of assets and liabilities of the Prayut Chan-o-cha Cabinet. The richest minister is Minister of Finance Apisak Tantiworawong with over 394 million baht in debt-free assets.
