BANGKOK, 13 October 2015 (NNT) - The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has moved up the schedule for an auction for the 900MHz spectrum fourth generation (4G) from December 15 to November 12.

NBTC secretary-general Thakorn Tanthasit disclosed that the agency decided to move up the schedule for the 4G auction to closely follow that for the 1,800 MHz spectrum, scheduled for November 11.

The auctions which will be held at the NBTC Office are expected to generate an income of about 73 billion baht and an economic value of about 150 billion baht, the NBTC chief said.

Members of the public will have access to a better mobile network which willl be even cheaper than the 3G services today, he said.

The agency will issue licenses for the winning bidders in November and recommend that they provide their 4G networks to the public by next January.
