Activating second 60 day tourist visa in CM

Featured Replies

My friend got two 60 day tourist visas when he was in the UK and now his first 60 day tourist visa is about to expire. He is in Chiang Mai and he plans to go across the border to Mae Sai and come back in to activate his second 60 day tourist visa. Does anyone know if he will be ok doing this or whther he'll have a problem? Thanks for any help on this.

No problem , he is aware that he can extend each entry with 30 days at immigration.

Just be sure to use the second entry before the "use by" date on the visa.

Moved to visa section.

Thanks for the reply. Someone told him that he may have to spend the night in Mae Sai and comeback in the next day, which I thought was a bit strange. So do I take it he'll be ok to come back in on the same day?.

Since he has a visa for entry he can leave then turn around and come right back after entering Myanmar.

Cheers, Ubonjoe.

It should be quite straight forward. There is a bus that departs CM at 8 AM, gets too Maesai at midday , Bus departs Maesai at 3 PM and various other times. It would be advisable to buy your bus ticket the day before .
