Visa Quick Question! (TV)

Featured Replies

Hi. With regards to extension of a TV:

They have told me EVERY SINGLE time you re enter the country (after visa run) you're supposed to notify your residence within 24 hours. Which is fine.

But does anyone know if it's possible to do an extension as soon as you were to re enter? So re enter after visa run and do an extension the very next day for an extra 30 days? Which would be like getting 3 months.

Or extensions can only be done towards the end of stay after 2 months are nearly up? Just wanted to check if anyone knew about this or not?

Thanks in advance

Yes they are done towards the end of the stay.

You will usual not have a problem extending 7 to 14 days before the end of the 60 days. More than that you'd need to check with the immigration office you want to apply at. 30 days before might be possible, but I doubt any would grant an extension as soon as you arrive.

7 or 14 days ? I only know about the 30 day extensions. How much is a 7 or 14 day extension usually costing ?

Someone said it isn't actually back tracked though, so if you have 30 days on visa left and applied for 30 day extension , you would just get 30 days from when you apply. Not 60 days. So it doesn't add onto what your visa already has. But I thought that was not the case and they DID in fact back track and extend the days only on the END of your visa.

There is no 7 or 14 day extension. I meant you can apply for the extension 7 to 14 days before.

Would you lose out on those 7-14 days you applied early ? Or do they put it on the end of the visa-to-expire

They are wrong. You thought correctly. It doesn't matter when you apply for the extension the extra 30 days starts from the end of your 60 day stay.

No. You lose nothing by applying early. The 30 days is added to the end of the stay about to expire.

I have never ever notified my address after a visa run, Many Non B's and Non O's for retirement purposes.

Well I thought it's a bit ridiculous but they weren't letting up on me. Said I need to do that every time .... Maybe it's new policy. Highly possibly here let's face it policies change like the wind !
