Do people on a TV usually bother with extensions if they're getting more than one TV In the time they're here?

Or do they just do the runs and then renew the visa. Seems like too much effort and more expensive to bother with extensions every possible time..?

A multi entry tourist visa gives 6 months without extensions, right?

That's entry for two months , visa run, two more months, visa run, two more months.

Am I the only one who thought of doing two extensions when taking the TV visa run option?

There are (as yet) no multiple entry tourist visas. Only visas which allow 1,2 or 3 entries.

How those entries are managed and whether 30 day extensions to each entry are applied for is a matter of personal choice.

All permitted entries must be made prior to or on the "enter before date" clearly marked on the visa.

Triple entry Tourist visas are not easily available in the region and but double entry visas are obtainable from Laos.

Yeah. I'm on triple now but could only get from London. I'll get the double from Laos. Thanks.

To clarify. The double from Laos gives me 6 months (EXCLUDING extensions) correct ?

A double entry tourist visa excluding any extension would provide a max of 120 days (2x60)

Each entry, excluding extensions gives you 60 days (about 2 months). A double entry visa means you can enter twice, thus giving you approximately 2x2 = 4 months excluding extensions.

Whoops. Made the mistake of thinking it was generous enough to give you 2 months upon entering after getting the new visa. Well, unsurprisingly, that sucks. I wonder if many people just consider over stay for years now and then paying 20k when they finally leave. It would probably be less stressful than what they put people through LMAO

But you can extension on a double twice , right? Making it 180 days 6 months. I guess that would be kind of worth it then.

Watch out for the visa expiry date !

Visas obtained in Vientiane are only valid for three months.

But if they give 4 months how can they only be valid for 3 months?

Exit and enter 1 day before the visa expires and be given 60 days "permission",to stay.

I will leave you to work out the complicated arithmetic ! smile.png

It is entirely possible to enjoy a "permission to stay" whilst the visa permitting entry has expired.

I am now exhausted!

A single entry TV only allows one entry !

A double entry TV allows two entries if the second entry is made prior to the visa expiring.
