Techno flyover to open for Water Fest

The Techno flyover on Russian Boulevard, currently under construction, will be ready to help ease traffic congestion during next month’s Water Festival, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced yesterday.

The premier said the $14 million flyover, which includes an underpass linking Mao Tse-toung and Kim Il Sung boulevards, would be “temporarily opened” on November 21, three days before the event, which draws huge crowds to Phnom Penh.

Fittingly, the announcement of the early opening came at the inauguration of the $39 million Chroy Changvar II Bridge across the Tonle Sap river – also known as the Cambodia-Chinese Friendship Bridge – which was opened early in April during Khmer New Year.
