Phuket air pollution leaps to unhealthy levels

PHUKET: Air pollution in Phuket jumped to unhealthy levels today, following two days of rain watering down the haze that has settled over the island.

“The 24-hour average by 5am this morning was 121 micrograms [PM10] per cubic meter, which is above safe levels,” explained Pornsri Suthanarak, director of the Regional Environmental Office.

No it does happy every year, might be a very light haze for a couple of days some years during the Indo bruning season. But in my 20 years living here I've never seen or smelled anything like this.

ditto, this is far far worse than i've ever seen in previous years.

the rain last night helped a bit i think, i can definitely see blue sky this a.m.

does Indonesia get rain this time of year?

This problem will persist for a few more years and then stop - because there will be no more rainforest left to burn in Indonesia

That is what is happening now - the Rainforests in Sumatra are being deliberately burnt down and replaced with palm Oil Plantations ( check it for yourself )

Wake up and shout out before its too late - the world is being raped so people in the west can have palm oil and don't blame the small subsistence farmers it is the large corporations that are behind this devastation.
