White Christmas13
I hope I got the right forum this time well I guess nobody will know the answer to the question I ask you My wife of 14 years now decided to apply for OZ citizenship she has been an PR for about 10 years OK cut it short she went for the interview and test past all that with flying colors but they need a new police clearance so we went to the AFP which normally does the clearance but no luck they changed their policy for just doing clearance for internal checks like cleaners nannies and so on. So we ask where do we go from here ( Answer was Thai Embassy, or Immigration department Tried all of them in the same day and we have been advised they don't do it either so what do you have to do ? She only got 20 days left to get her clearance well she can go to Thailand and get one but who is going to pay for that ? Any Ideas ?

ripstanley
Do they need a new Police clearance from Thailand or Australia? How long has she lived continuously in Australia?
TPI
Have a reli go to the RTP in Bangkok with some money and either a photocopy or original of your wifes ID. In your case they could almost do it on the spot, then they can EMS it to immigration in Oz or to you! No problem, don't panic, she can always re-apply if you're late! dbrenn
Since getting her Australian PR, has your wife spent a period of more than 90 days in Thailand or more than a total of 12 months of shorter periods. If not, then she might not need a police clearance from Thailand. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Citi/Appl/What-documents-do-you-need/good-character-and-offences
