Onward Flight Necessary for TR Double Entry?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for a double entry tourist visa to Thailand, and it's unclear if I need to include proof of onward flight with my application documents.

On the Washington, DC Thai Embassy website (where I'm applying for the visa) it only lists the following instruction for what flight documents to include:

4. Flight confirmation/reservation (The name of the applicant must clearly appear on it)

I already have my flight into Thailand, but not my flight outbound. Will I need to purchase my onward flight before the embassy will approve my visa application?

Thanks for your help.

I would think it best to phone/email the Embassy to ascertain what their exact requirements are.

Websites are often poorly maintained and often provide erroneous information.

As of today printouts of flight reservations would suffice. Be aware that most likely after Nov 13th double entry torusit visa could be eliminated and you would be left with single entry, or multiple entry for additional cost and requirements.

They will accept an itinerary of your travel plans.

They will accept an itinerary of your travel plans.

The DC Embassy actually emailed me back a little while ago:

Dear Sir
One of requirements is a flight confirmation/reservation to/from Thailand or an explanation letter.
Ubonjoe, I'm guessing "explanation letter" = travel plans?

Just a letter stating your travel plans and what you will be doing.
