Re-entry Stamp while on initial Non-B Possible? Before Work permit

Featured Replies

I'm an American about to go to Thailand on a Non-Immigrant B visa.

I know the work permit takes some time to process, but I stupidly planned a trip to Malaysia just two weeks after I first arrive in Bangkok thinking I could get a multiple entry visa on application.. They said the initial Non-B can only be single entry.

Can I get a re-entry permit on my initial non-immigrant B visa before I get my work permit? Or do I need to rush to do the work permit the first day I arrive?

How long does the work permit take to process? My company is on the ball with all the documentation, so no worries from my side. But what about the department of Labor?

I'd prefer not to cancel my trip to Malaysia, but I don't want to have to apply for another visa if mine is going to be cancelled. Please advise,

Thanks,

JC

You can get a re-entry permit for the 90 day entry you will get from the visa that will keep it valid when you re-enter the country. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht.
