webfact
Supercar simpletons block bridge traffic for selfies (VIDEO)By Coconuts BangkokPHUKET: -- An upsetting video of eleven supercars closing a lane on Thep Kasattri Bridge in Phuket as the owners casually take photos of the view circulated online over the weekend.Worse, a police car and at least one officer were spotted in the video as if they were facilitating the group. The clip was shared to Facebook page "Citizens of Phuket" on Saturday, raising the questions of whether it's right for the police to shut down traffic for the Instagram accounts of douches."Is this right? The police facilitated a group of tourists to drive their luxury cars to take photos on the Thep Kasattri and cause traffic when parking is not allowed on the bridge." the caption wrote. steelepulse
Not really any different than having multiple cars parked in the slow lane in front of every supercheap, 7/11/ family mart and every other shop along a main road. Inconsiderate and dangerous to say the least of these lazy ass selfish people.
NongKhaiKid
Tourist, not Highway, Police from another province and apparently no advance warning to Phuket of the arrival of the motorcade ? Irrespective of this being authorised or a tourist promotion was permission given and facilitated by police to park illegally, and is taking selfies a tourist promotion ? Perhaps the motorists decided to simply stop and the police present couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it.

tx22cb
Let's be charitable and refrain from criticizing the owners - they are in desperate need, and have to show off their "supercars" to compensate for their hidden inadequacies.
Charlie1
Most of the time, the owners of these cars are Malaysians, doing weekend trips to Phuket where they can do whatever is forbidden in their country.. The crazyness about it is that they drive through the South of Thailand on PhetKasem road at highest speeds, with a Highway Police car in front !!!! This is a very big danger to all other participants in traffic, like slow motorbikes, people crossing the streets etc. They are passing the village where I live through the whole year, on their way to Phuket. They often stay overnight in the Ao Nang Villa Resort. Police should stop this nonsense!

The cars are all the same and very expensive. Now, if it were a bunch of beaten up pickups ..

Correction - seems this is a Singapore car club (according to Phuket news video clip). Must be very very rich as car taxes are super expensive in Singapore. They must please to drive up to Thailand, 'support' the BiB, and do wht they cannot do in Singapore.

Just curious why should they stop.....i have attended many big bike & car tours from malaysia to thai and i really feel that with police escort it is much more safer than ever .....in malaysia for a group of over 30 we would get about 7 police escorts with a permit approved by the government........ When you pointed out that the FB's were the ones who started the factory through hard work and now owned the factory and if it wasn't for them you wouldn't have a job and wouldn't be able to sit in the pub all night and complain about the FB"s with their flash cars I never seemed to get an answer that made sense. It was always on the lines of 'don't be smart' whatever that's supposed to mean. Edited October 28, 2015 by overherebc
