xerostar
Did anybody feel the earth tremor in Bangkok at 15.15 today? I felt a distinct sideways rocking action in this 4th floor condo and my pedestal fan started rocking for about 30 seconds in unison. No, for those of you who jump to conclusions I wasn't even with my gf at the time. LOL I was typing an email on my notebook ..

petedk
Take a look here http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/ Nothing at that time. Do you live near a large road (heavy trucks) or near MRT? Could be from that.
NanLaew
USGS website indicates the only regional event in the last 24 hours was a 4.6 located 6 km NNE of Alabel, Philippines at 02:32 UTC.
xerostar
Take a look here http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/ Nothing at that time. Do you live near a large road (heavy trucks) or near MRT? Could be from that. Heavy traffic usually creates an up & down vibration. The time difference can explain it and a 4.2 is strong. A ripple effect could take some time to reach Bangkok from Myanmar as well. I used my Samsung phone to check the compass bearings. What I experienced was a definite horizontal swaying in a NNW - SSE direction. Apparently earth tremors in this part of the world are not that uncommon so I guess nobody is particularly worried. Just strange that nobody else noticed it. The OP says he felt something at 15:15 local time and the 4.2 in northern Myanmar was at 20:20 local time; that's about 5 hours for the OP's 'ripple effect. There was a 4.7 (I think) somewhere in the same region about 3 years ago when I was living in Udon Thani. That made the blinds sway and rocked my office chair but the rest of the family sitting on the floor in the lounge watching telly didn't notice anything. I logged into the USGS website and when it updated, the time difference between the event as logged and my witnessing was less than 3 minutes. Nick167
I really think that you should move out from your current dwelling. A lot of buildings in thailand are shoddily built and might collapse.
