PHUKET: A 67-year-old Irish man was said to be 'dazed' when pulled from a wrecked black Honda Jazz that he had smashed into a speed-limit sign on the hill between Kamala and Patong early this morning.

Majority supports Prayut's "close country" remark: Poll

BANGKOK: A majority of Thais, 55.07 per cent, supported Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha's remark: "If the country remains unstable, (National Centre for Peace and Order - NCPO) will stay on, even this means (we have to) close the country", according to Dusit Poll.

Cash strapped Thai TV off air

BANGKOK, 1 November 2015 (NNT) -The “Thai TV” digital TV channel has terminated its broadcast while the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) has confirmed it did not ordered the channel off the air. The commission will meet on Monday to discuss the matter.

CDC gives EC more power to issue yellow card both before and after election result announcement



BANGKOK, 1 November 2015 (NNT) - The Constitution Drafting Committee has given the Election Commission the power to issue yellow cards to any candidate guilty of election law violation not only after the official poll results are announced.

Fishermen claim one unidentified ship responsible for discharging oil into the sea off Mae Klong estuary

HUA HIN: A ship of between 3,000-4,000 deadweight tonnage was spotted of deliberately discharging oil into the sea off the Mae Klong river estuary in Samut Sakhon province in mid-October, fishermen told Thai PBS.

Pattaya Rescue Workers clash with Pattaya Police Officer during call-out

PATTAYA: A group of 30 Pattaya Rescue Volunteers, supported by the Chairman of the Rescue Foundation, made a complaint at Pattaya Police Station early on Sunday Morning following an angry incident which occurred between a group of rescue workers and a Pattaya Police Officer.
