Labor Ministry officials told to follow govt roadmap

BANGKOK, 3 November 2015 (NNT) - Labor Minister Sirichai Ditthakul instructed officials to accelerate the implementation of the government's policy and roadmap.

All government agencies are obliged to support the government and to implement their respective policies to meet the government's goals and get in line with the roadmap, according to the labor minister said.

They are also advisedf to promptly support reconciliatory efforts in the provinces and help reduce conflict of opinion.

Meanwhile, the government has been well aware of the country’s water situation and future consumption as the water available at several dams has ebbed to a level lower than last year.

The government has taken measures to increase the volume of water by making rains under a royal rain-making project and finding water from artesian wells to irrigate agriculture.

All government agencies have been instructed to inform people of the current water situation so that they will use water sparingly.

In another development, the Ministry of Labor has allocated some budget for current fiscal year for the implementing of contingency employment and skill development projects designed to help victims of natural disasters.

Ministry officials have been instructed to expedite the projects and lay out expenditure plans for skill training programs during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

"The government has taken measures to increase the volume of water by making rains under a royal rain-making project"

And they wonder why the world laughs at their incompetence. Black magic, lucky numbers, ghosts and karma. How easy it is to manipulate simple minds.

Normally I would agree with you but in this case maybe not. Leaving aside the LM issues I think these methods have been used elsewhere including Australia as far as I remember. HM the king was well educated outside of Thailand and was granted patents for his cloud seeding methods so they may not be as silly as the seem at first sight.

Reminds me of that song "Witchcraft crazy witchcraft"

Being granted a patent and it actually working are two seperate issues. You can apply for a patent for basically anything to protect intellectual property and im sure if it worked areas of droughts would no longer exist.

Atmospheric moisture exists in various phases, even those outside the parameters that we believe or have been taught exist, such as super cooled water vapour but these are well above the level of the rain making operations and can be random and variable in location.

Some countries even believe in rain dances

The methods put forward by the king are not the only ones and they are used in other advanced countries. None of them will produce rain from clear blue skies or they'd be using them in California. I think the principle is that rain clouds that might pass over without producing rain can be seeded to release water. Although there's uncertainty as to its effectiveness as it's difficult to know what would happen without it there are many counties that use it. Sometimes to produce rain in a particular area or to make it rain before it reaches an area where it's not wanted and also to reduce the effects of fog and reduce the size of hailstones. I can't find it right now but I'm sure there's some international treaty against using weather modification as a means of hostility.

Whether any of this is having a positive influence in Thailand is another matter of course as it could just be the usual bold statement making that officials love here.

Right then. Now we know. Everything in the garden is lovely. Or will be when it rains. Trouble is there's not a cloud in sight. And even the royal rain-making squadron needs one of these before it can produce even a shower.

Never mind The roadmap drawn up by Big Chief Five Rivers and his tribal elders is being followed to the letter. So it's surely just a matter of time. . .

"get in line with the roadmap"

Sounds like there's some resistance in the rank and file to the junta's contentious roadmap to democracy and economic recovery. Perhaps the government's self-proclaimed successes in ruling the country is not being fully appreciated.
