Operator of van involved in fatal accident fined 7,000 baht

BANGKOK: -- Operator of the commuter’s van which was involved in a fatal accident on the Buraphavithi motorway on Sunday has been fined 7,000 baht and the driver fined 5,000 baht and his driving license suspended 30 days by the Land Transport Department.

Thai junta turns to populist subsidies to ease farmer tensions

Court orders extradition to India of alleged arms dealer


BANGKOK:-- THE APPEAL COURT Wednesday ordered the extradition of Wuthikorn Naruenartwanich, an alleged arms dealer of Nagaland origin, who is wanted in India in connection with brokering arms deals between Chinese suppliers and insurgent outfits in India's Northeast.

CHIANG MAI — A Japanese man was allegedly assaulted Tuesday by a driver of one of the red songtaew which circulate through Chiang Mai, and police said they are searching for his attacker.
