Former Thai police spokesman Prawut resigns

IMHO, outside of the odd exception to confirm the rule: one cannot have a 'very successfull career', whether it'd be in business, politics, as an official, police, military while being, and, the more so, remaining, 'a good guy', it's simply not how 'the system' works; 'good guys' are dangerous for 'the system', there's no catch on 'good guys' so they're hard to control and manipulate, can't trust such people, imagine, they're honest! Even in the rich imagination of the Disney studio's guys, there's never been a 'General Snowhite' either...

In addition, was Prawut maybe too close to Somyot, who had been quite close to former-major-Thaksin at least till his last appointment, did Prawut maybe know some disturbing things for some big-brass guys,? It seems anyway that at this day and hour no-one is really looking for him to have a serious conversation with... Or is it maybe the custom for higher officers just not to come to the office after a holyday and have their resignation handed over at a distance, ...or for this way of resigning to be so swiftly accepted...?

'The End', or will it be a next soap opera, and then for when can the next episode be expected???

The fog machines have been working overtime on this case: transferred, traveling abroad, back, not back, back but absent from work, and now apparently resigned since last week already…

Have there been any verifiable signs of the man still being among us since the news of his transfer broke?

I don't know the man personally, but there was a moment when i had the feeling he was 'retiring' from the force already.

That was when the former RTP chief couldn't wait to show the 3 million bath in cash he just donated to the policeforce, the expression on his face,Khun Prawut's face, was one of utter shame and that might have left him isolated and in the end removed.

Anyway....Good Luck to you Sir, Khun Prawut!

I do know this man personally and he is a gentleman and a professional. He was in Italy for a well deserved vacation. During the Erawan bombing he only got 2-3 hours sleep per day and needed a break which he rightfully took.

The RTP will be worse off for his resignation!

I still don't think the fat lady has sung yet, so we shall see what he will do after this.

"The fog machines have been working overtime on this case: transferred, traveling abroad, back, not back, back but absent from work, and now apparently resigned since last week already."

Plus the big chief said he had signed some 30 documents but couldn't remember that approval of Gen Parwut's resignation was included.

Sorry, don't believe you.

Another tricky national police chief.

By the way, was it really necessary to remove the entire (from memory 7 officers) previous spokesperson team? Surely this also needs some investigation. Is the new guy playing personal games and not focused on the 'best person for the job' requirement?

Another excellent example of why the whole RTP needs total transformation, including promotion through nothing else but displayed above average capability and displayed above average insight, and well above average past performance.

Saving face is so important to these people that he would give up his retirement.

What do you mean "give up his retirement"? The only thing he will have given up is one year's entitlement on which his pension will be calculated.

He won't be penalised probably get a bonus for the pension, plus his share of rewards.

There's a great story on the web you in LOS are not permitted to read which put all these 'strange' goings-on in context. Things are looking pretty ugly.

Many folks use proxies, so give us a hint.

you could try googling some obvious search terms like purge and sentinel, perhaps something pops up
