Non O based on Marriage - dates

Featured Replies

My extension to stay will expire on 28th of December, 2015. I leave for work on the 26th of November and re-enter Thailand on the 25th of December.

My questions are, can I re-enter on the 25th of December and apply for another year's extension or would the extension terminate on the 28th during the under review period?

Or could I apply on the 25th of November or earlier if possible?

Thanks in advance.

dont think you can apply that early but worst case scenario wen you come back get a 15 VOA, then go to immigration get 60 day to see your wife and get paperwork together after that get EOS, some 1 can clarify but that is what i would do

Sorry missed the fact your EOS will still be valid for 3 days so come back on your EOS get 60 days then get EOS again, unless you can get all the paperwork in 3 days

I have re-entered with three days left of my extension.

Got three days permission of stay.

Went Immigration next day and got a new extension based on marriage.

You could apply with just 3 day left and then you would be staying on the under consideration stamp after your extension ends.

You can apply up to 30 days early at most offices and 45 days at some offices.

If you applied early you would have to get single re-entry permit for the under consideration period.

If he comes on 25th December (which is on a Friday) Immigration will be closed.

26 and 27th are Sat and Sunday, so he only has 1 day to apply for the Extension. It should be enough but just hoping that he has all his documents in order.

And don't forget to apply for the Re-Entry Permit before you leave

  1. You can apply on Monday Dec 28th. The under review 30 days can extend beyond that date.

    • Worst case; if for any reason your paperwork for a 1 year extension wasn't in order you could apply for a 60 day extension which would be issued on the day. You could then apply for the 1 year extension in the last 30/45 days of that extension.

  2. Your best plan would be to apply early.

    • Some offices will allow applications up to 45 days early. If yours doesn't they might make exception if you explain your situation.

  3. You don't lose out by applying early. The new extension will apply from when the current extension finishes regardless of when you apply.

25th? are you sure you want to fly on that date? Tickets must be expensive.

Why are they expensive that date it's a normal working day in many parts of the world.

Thanks to everybody for passing on the information. It's good to know what options are available.

With this in mind I have just paid a visit to Sri Racha Immigration, they were absolutely brilliant.

They only allow applications 30 days before the Extension expires. They are, however, open on Christmas Day.

They seemed very relaxed about everything and have offered to check over all the documents prior to me leaving the Country, this means I will only have to get the letter from the Bank on my return and turn up for everything processing on the 25th or 28th as the case may be.

Thanks again and a big thumbs up to Sri Racha Immigration. :-)

I land early hours on the 25th, my company pay for the tickets. But in actual fact the ticket price for this trip seem much the same as for other trips throughout the year.

Good that you did that, and very good from Sri Racha to offer to check your documents before you leave.

Again, please don't forget your Re-Entry Permit thumbsup.gif

Within Thailand December 25th is a normal working day for Immi and banks.
