cmsoulbrother Posted November 6, 2015 Share Posted November 6, 2015 I was wondering if anyone out there has heard of anyone growing (and selling) white dent corn that's suitable for making corn tortillas? I have tried before with regular field maize and though it works, the taste is only OK. Any help or leads on this would be very appreciated. There are several masa threads on this fourm if you do a forum search or google will bring the threads up. If you have someone in the states that can sen you a care package, check out South East Seed Exchange for OP dent corns. Also their Texas Gourd Corn, also good as a roaster when it's in the milk stage. If you live in a windy area, HK get 10/12' tall and does not like it. SESE has good discriptions of the seed and they are top quality seed. I am a cook, but not much of a farmer. I was hoping to find someone already growing a masa-friendly variety that I could buy to supply my restaurants. rice555 Posted November 9, 2015 Share Posted November 9, 2015 find a brocker and have a 20 container shipped from the America's west coasts. Most grown in the US is contact for mills.
