Sweet potato

Featured Replies

I know that MAN THET (มันเทศ) means sweet potato, kumara (Australia, NZ), yam (US), etc. (Ipomoea batatas), however do the following also mean the same thing:

MAN DAENG (มันแดง)

MAN SII MUANG (มันสีม่วง)

I was under the impression that they did, but just want to double-check.

Thank you for your help.

Mrs. Pla shado says that all three are sweet potatoes with color being the only difference.

Dear Pla shado,

Thank you (and your wife) for that information.

I will add '(generic)' behind 'sweet potato' (MAN THET) and 'red' and 'purple' behind the others.
