Chiang Mai Police find Foreigner Hanged at Construction Site


CHIANG MAI – Pol Maj Watcharapol Yomkerd, a duty officer at Muang police station has told reporters that the body of a foreign Asian man was found hanged with his hands tied in a guesthouse under construction in Muang district of Chiang Mai on Saturday.



Suspects flee into forest, leave behind 10kg of heroin

BANGKOK: Officials yesterday announced the seizure of 10 kilograms of heroin and five motorcycles belonging to drug suspects. The items were confiscated from suspects who fled into forest in Chiang Rai's Mae Fah Luang district on Friday night.

YANGON (Myanmar Now) – Polls opened in Myanmar’s landmark election on Sunday, with the opposition of former political prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi needing a landslide victory to turn the page on more than half a century of army-led rule.



Bucharest Colektiv nightclub blaze death toll rises to 39

The death toll from last weekend’s (October 31) fire in a Bucharest night club has risen to 39. Romania’s interim prime minister announced on Saturday (November 7) that six hospitalised victims had died overnight and on Saturday morning. Nearly 200 people were injured in the blaze.

WHO declares Sierra Leone free of Ebola

The World Health Organisation has declared Sierra Leone free of Ebola. There hasn’t been a single case of the disease for the past 42 days. The outbreak killed almost 4,000 people in the country over the last 18 months.

Black box reveals “noise” before Russian plane crashed

The leader of the Russian plane crash technical investigate committee has told reporters that data from the jet’s cockpit voice recorder has been downloaded. A “noise” can be heard in the last moments of the recording. He said the nature has not yet been determined.
