Russian airlines are sending empty planes to Egypt to rescue stranded travellers.

Russia’s deputy prime minister said the number of Russian tourists in Egypt is around 80,000, according to the RIA news agency.

Some passengers said that they don’t know what’s going to happen to their luggage.

“They said that we shouldn’t take any baggage with us on board, so we have to keep it somewhere, I don’t know where, put our addresses and then they will somehow transport it to Russia to our homes, but how, who will do it, I don’t know. I will say goodbye to my baggage,” said tourist
Julia Suvrova.

“I feel safe, saod Alexander Nevzozov, “but some people talking about … there are some dangers, but I don’t think so.”

Russia’s tourism agency said 1,200 tourists had returned home and future flights would be leaving Egypt without hold luggage.

Most people due to visit Egypt in the coming days had agreed to instead fly to Turkey.

Until the downing of the airbus, Russia was kind of immured from international aviation terrorism, and now,

that those pesky terrorist caused them to lose 224 people, maybe they will change their political standing

when it comes to cozy up to countries and rouge groups that sponsor terror...

I guess now there will be more obnoxious Russians blocking the sidewalks in Thailand.

Changing from Egypt to Turkey? Is that not closer to ISIS controlled territory?

Sounds very much like 'out of the frying pan into the fire' to me.

turkey is a lovely country a vibrant culture, excellent historic sites and friendly people i'd take that over shamel shek any day

An astute observation. I'm sure we will see some more excitement.

Honestly, I don't care what happens to the Russians.

Out of the frying pan in to the fire, brain dead.

Ruskies are making even easier for the ISIS boyz . I can hear them shapening their blades.

Why would anyone still want to go to Turkey ?

I am sorry to hear that a bomb was the cause of the crash and so many died. However, when Putin decided to intervene as he did- Russians have to be prepared for more of this. The Islamic terrorists will do anything to anyone who enters their sphere. This is one reason why I am hoping that the next American president gets all of the Us troops out of the Middle East and bring them home. The Russians can have it. Apparently they learned nothing from their prior adventures in Afghanistan. Unless Putin reverses his policies expect more Russian blood to flow.

With all the nonsense going on

i think better to stay home.

To Turkey ?? The 'sun-sea-sand' season in Turkey has ended already (around mid October). Well, maybe, they are heading to Turkey for historical sites, etc.

To me this sounds like, out of the frying pan into the fire.
