PHUKET: -- Traffic will be closed and parking will be prohibited all along the main route into Phuket Town from Koh Kaew for most of today to accommodate a visit by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

According to an announcement issued by Traffic Police, which was later ratified by Phuket Provincial Police Commander Col Teeraphol Thipjaroen, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will arrive on the island today to preside over the opening ceremony for a new building at Vachira Phuket Hospital.

The road clearance notification asks residents parked anywhere along the following roads to remove their vehicles as soon as possible, prior to the visit.

No parking or stopping will be permitted on Monday (Nov 9) from 11am-4pm along the following roads:

She is very popular here on Phuket, and indeed everywhere in the land. Amazing to see that photo of Vachira with the streets looking very bare, wish it were so every day on this main traffic route.
