Any Problems Getting 30 Day Tourist Visa Extensions?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm in Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa that was issued in the USA. My 60 days will expire on October 30th and I would like to apply for a 30 day extension. Give how up in the air everything is at this point I was wondering if I'll have any problems getting a 30 day extension and as I've never done it before if anyone has a link to a thread explaining the process and charges.

Thanks for any advice / input!

I'll be doing mine 4 days before yours. I've heard a few negative comments about how they are not guaranteed and how they could be reduced to 15 days or less.

I hope we can find some definitive answers very soon.

Me too as I'm getting nervous. If I find anything else out via word of mouth or elsewhere I'll post it here.

Good luck!

You will have no problems as long as there is nothing in your passport to suggest you are trying to live in Thailand as a tourist.

Thank you, that's a relief!

That's extremely vague.

My best guess as to what you're saying here is that anyone with multiple stamps and visas will be refused.

I'll be heading there later this month to get my first 30-day extension on a 3-entry tourist visa. I have 5 x 30-day stamps and one 3-entry tourist visa in my passport since February this year. Am I wasting my time to try for an extension?
