Lese Majesty Case Against Ex-PM Thaksin

Naewna Editor Vachala urges Gen. Kowit to manage lese majesty case against ex-PM Thaksin

Mr. Vachala Phetthong (วัชระ เพชรทอง), the Editor of Naewna Newspaper, has submitted a document to the Royal Thai Commander, Pol. Gen. Kowit Watthana (โกวิท วัฒนะ), urging him to expedite the lese majesty charge against former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Mr. Vachala has demanded Pol. Gen. Kovit to push for all relevant units to quickly investigate this case since he has not acknowledged any of its progress yet. Mr. Vachala earlier handed a petition to a policeman to file a lawsuit against Pol. Lt. Col. Thaksin on the allegation of lese majesty since December 25th, but there has been no development so far. He has requested Pol. Gen. Kovit to take action on this matter within a week. Even so, Mr. Vachala will hand the same document to the Council of National Security (CNS), and he will also hold an address concerning the matter right after the announcement to prohibit political demonstration has been revoked.

In the meantime, the Royal Thai Police Spokesman, Pol. Gen. Achirawit Suphanpheasat (อชิรวิทย์ สุพรรณเภสัช), said that once the police officers have received the cases, they will then be considered and taken into action.
