U.N.'s Ban Ki-moon to visit North Korea

(CNN)U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon will visit North Korea, the first time the head of the international body will visit the reclusive state in over two decades, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported.

The Secretary-General plans to travel to Pyongyang later this week and will meet with the country's leader Kim Jong Un, to discuss North Korea's nuclear weapons program and other Korean peninsula matters, Yonhap said on Monday, citing a "high-level U.N. source."

"There can't be such a situation where the U.N. Secretary-General visits North Korea and does not meet with the supreme leader of the U.N. member state," the source said.

Very bad move. giving this kind of recognition to NK.

We can now reveal that the Secretary-General’s meeting with Prayut in New York was just a practice run for the main event!

Despite what we think of the “antics” of Kim Jong Un, the people of North Korea still deserve to have the support of the United Nations. This is especially true during times of drought, which (like many other parts of Asia) is now a serious problem for the North Koreans.

While one doesn’t expect too much to come from Ki-moon’s visit, anything that helps to ease tension in the region must be a positive!
