Hun Sen's son, Hun Many First Cambodian to Win Gusi Peace Prize

Cambodian youth leader Hun Many will receive an international award, the Gusi Peace Prize International 2015, next week the Philippines, becoming the first Cambodian to win the prize since it was inaugurated in 2002.

Mr. Many, president of the Union of Youth Federation of Cambodia (UYFC), is one of 18 others from around the world to receive the Gusi award for a range of achievements. The ceremony will take place on November 25 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

Mr. Many, 32, a young lawmaker representing Kampong Speu, will receive the award for Youth Leadership and Humanitarianism and Advocate of Cultural Heritage, according to the event’s organizers.

He is actively involved in promoting youth empowerment and is the youngest parliamentarian in the country.

Mr. Many, the youngest son of Prime Minister Hun Sen, is considered a rising star within the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), in which his father is the president.
