rooster59
Frenchman Arrested Using Fake Passport for 5 Years in Thailand BANGKOK:-- A French National has been arrested in Bangkok with a fake passport just days after a Russian National was arrested for using a stolen Spanish passport to exit the country. A team of Special Branch and Phra Khanong police apprehended the 35-year-old French national in front of Lumpini Ville Building 1 on Soi Sukhumvit 77 in Suan Luang district at 11pm on Friday. A search found the man had used a fake passport and has been living in Thailand for five years, police said on Saturday. The suspect told police that his real name was Andre Espiasse Cabau and that he was a French national, but his passport identified him as “Andre Donatho”, the Bangkok Post reported. He had been staying in Thailand for five years Full story: http://www.chiangraitimes.com/frenchman-arrested-using-fake-passport-for-5-years-in-thailand.html -- Chiang Rai Times 2015-11-

"A criminal record check showed that the man had been imprisoned for 10 years in France. Police said they suspected he might have been involved in a bank robbery in his country." Chiang Rai Times Probably this, but then, you would already know this had you read the article fully. Jonathan Fairfield
Wanted Frenchman nabbed BANGKOK:-- Officers from the police's Special Investigation Bureau have arrested a Frenchman who allegedly was involved in a bank robbery in his home country. The suspect, whose name on a suspected fake passport was Andre Donatho, was apprehended at a condominium in Bangkok's Soi On Nut (Sukhumvit 77) on Friday night. The man reportedly confessed that his real name was Cabau Andre Espiasse and he had been in Thailand for five years. The arrest was part of the national police chief's policy to crackdown on transnational criminals and passport forgery-related offences. Police said the Frenchman, who had served 10 years behind French bars according to police investigation, was initially charged with illegal entry and stay in the country and was also suspected to be involved in a bank robbery case in his home country.
