Visa run from Partaya

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone have the latest info on activating my 3rd entry on a UK tourist visa? Travelling from Pattaya. I'd rather not use a visa company so bus times, cost and paperwork if any, is required now.

Done my last one in Poipet from Bangkok 3 months ago which was the normal procedure. No proof of accommodation or finances was required, is it still the same?

Thanks

Nothing has changed at the borders if you have a valid visa for re-entry.

I think you will not find it that easy to get from Pattaya to one of the border crossing near there by bus. You probably will have to change buses somewhere.

Have a look at this map that shows the crossings. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?ll=12.36849%2C104.361086&spn=2.58554%2C3.621642&hl=en&msa=0&source=embed&ie=UTF8&mid=zzYcs0PT4--s.kRc-RY3_vayk

You have IMO 3 options.

1- Pattaya -> Chantaburi and transport to the border crossing

2- Pattaya -> Trat and on the bus station you have minibuses to the border town of Hat Lek and the border.

3- Pattaya -> Aranyaprathet

A visa run with a company would be easier and less hassle, leave Pattaya +/- 6:30 and back in Pattaya +/- 15:00.

You don't have to stay out of the country for any amount of time now.

But if you have more than 90 days in a calendar year doing them you will not be allowed to do it (note this is only for 4 Cambodia crossings not all).

pattaya to Hat Lek ( Cambodian border) If u dont have a car, rent one for the day or motorcycle split it with a friend

4 hours or so great roads, just drove it

u need pay $30 for a Cambodian visa

sometimes the Cambodians will "ask" for 300 baht for an in/out

thanks ubonjoe

From Pattaya to Poi Pet, I think there are still some casino buses. I would suggest using those in at least one direction. They are fast and comfortable. Perhaps, a Pattaya resident knows for sure where they leave from and at what time. The Cambodia visa is $30. The Cambodia immigration will quite likely try to scam you out of more money, either when purchasing the visa or when exiting Cambodia. When they do this, under no circumstances get angry or aggressive. If you wish, fall for the scam (many prefer to do this arguing that it is not much money). Alternatively, quietly and with a smile just say "no". You may need to say "no" two or three times (still smiling) before they get the message.
