moonseeker
Buy a universal-one in Powerbuy or Tukom or any big air spare parts shop for max. 300 Baht and program easily. Works just fine...Good luck. MS>
craigt3365
I tried one of these shops and ended up going to the main Daiken shop here. I'm not good with this, but it should be right about here, give or take 50 meters! Rd. intersection. I believe it is before City hall, can't miss it, as has many contractors and aircon stuff right on side-walk lined up. They got good universal remotes. They have worked for several brands incl. some old & new Daikins for me. Easy to set proper channel, just follow instructions. Good luck. This results in part of the link not being read. When creating a link from Google Maps, best to tick the little box "short URL" in the share link dialogue box. This results in nice short URL containing no punctuation, which should work properly anywhere. https://goo.gl/maps/37GjBrGY1xz Another option is to use the "add link" button in the reply creation menu as this will also format the link correctly. ballbreaker
Amorn Electronics in basement of Tucom sells remotes for different air con manufacturers that work with that brand but not others. I just purchased two remotes labeled for Daikin at Amorn (350 baht each) that look identical to orginals, including color, with exception of one additional button labeled "Powerful" on left side below display. The button changes information on display but does not seem to change anything on air con. Display and other buttons are identical to original Daikin remotes. When we get back to Pattaya in January we going to the Daikin shop on Sukhumvit and buy an original there. Sorry to revive an old thread, but is the market with remotes the one just west of the Outlet Mall -- is that only a night market? Any pointers which part of the market? I replaced the air cons in my condo about 12 years ago, and I went cheap and bought some generic units -- no name plate or specifications label on the unit. Now one of the remotes needs replacing. I had it "fixed" at Amorn but several months later it's now even worse and can't control the unit at all. On the outside chance someone recognizes this remote and can tell me what make/model air con it controls, I think with that info Amorn can order one: I'm selling the condo, and actually have a prospective buyer, but naturally he wants a working remote. MJCM
^ Just a suggestion, but maybe open your own topic in General or in Real Estate as then you will reach more people then posting this in the Pattaya forum. Good Luck with your search
wpcoe
Yeah, I never know where to post. I know the forum management doesn't like cross-posting, so I tossed a coin and posted here. BTW, can you clarify about the location of the market on Thepprasit?
MJCM
The Night market is approx here: https://goo.gl/maps/rYpQJ31Gsfu BUT I can't say for sure about the availability of Aircon Remote sellers at that Market as I don't live in Pattaya anymore and haven't been to that market in over 1 year. There are still a couple of stalls selling orginal looking secondhand remote control's at Tepprasit market. They are asking 250 baht. If you are buying a remote control this way, you can test is it alive or not using you smartphone camera like this:

Thanks. There is one other market I know of on Thepprasit, so wanted to go to the right one. I'm not overly fond of night markets, but a guy's gotta do what he's gotta do. wpcoe
Pretty sure my air con with the faulty remote is not a Daikin. I just happened upon this thread doing a forum search for faulty air con remotes.
Dexlowe
Bump. Also having an issue with a Daikin remote. It's cactii. Will go and check out that place in Pattaya Nua -- the Daikin branch is up in Amarta Nakorn, so too bloody far. And I don't fancy paying 1200 baht for a remote at the Sukhumvit office of Daikin. Will update when I get back and tested the new remote.
johng
you could try a "universal remote" only a couple of hundred baht I got this one from Hardware House in Bahn Ampur just past Na-Jomtien Amorn in the basement of Tukcom should have them too. Dexlowe
Cheers johng. Thanks for the info -- I refuse to give Amorn in Tukcom any business after they blatantly ripped me off a couple of years back. But I went to that aircon shop in Pattaya Nua -- it's just 50 metres back (towards Suk) from Fascino. They've got a large range of remotes, including one exactly like mine -- 690 baht. Nice lady who speaks good English said Daikin on Suk charges 1800 baht for the remote. So I'm back in business -- remote works perfectly. So there you go. Hope this helps someone in the future, considering Daikin remotes are somewhat frail.
