Gazprom to Halt Gas Deliveries to Ukraine Until Prepayment Received - CEO

According to Gazprom CEO, Russian gas deliveries to Ukraine will stop until Naftogaz makes a prepayment.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian gas deliveries to Ukraine will cease until Naftogaz makes a prepayment, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said Wednesday.

“As of 10:00 this morning, Ukraine’s Naftogaz chose its earlier prepayment volume of Russian gas.

Apparently the Ukranians have knocked down the power lines supplying Crimea so this has further infuriated the Russians.

Looks like it's getting time again for the rubble ruble to start sinking back some more.

Putin before sanctions budgeted for the government based on oil at $100 a barrel. Now he's budgeting at oil based on $50 a barrel. With Moscow temperatures today at minus 1 C more than some Russians are getting a bit chilly indoors. Russians love it though cause it shows the world how much suffering they love to bear. Russians are tough. Just ask 'em cause they'll tell you right away.

EU and others can sell energy to Ukraine without demanding prepayments. Crimea meanwhile can stay cold indoors too.

EU got its own independent energy supply two years ago from other producer countries, such as Madagascar and some countries in Africa and the USA. Europe said it needed energy sources from governments that are "not a strategic rival." So now that's settled for good.

Putin himself anyway never at any time during recent years threatened to cut off Europe cause it would have cost him $1 bn a day. It's always been the puffy rhetoric of his deluded fanboyz.

Now it's costing Russia $1 bn a day anyway. Almost that much.

The energy pipelines in the deals signed with the CCP Dictators in Beijing are still in the pipeline, so to speak. Construction will begin sometime soon, eventually, gradually, before long, pretty soon, any time now. EU meanwhile killed Putin's South Pipeline when Bulgaria last year permanently halted construction already underway. Another money hit for Vlad.

Beijing also hasn't handed over to Putin the promised $25 bn advance toward the Russian construction of the lines in Russia cause the Boyz in Beijing are broke too

Times are tough everywhere. Well, not quite everywhere. Russia and China. Venezuela. Certain others.

Beijing's buying big from SA but on the condition the Boyz don't send any to Putin. No problem. The Chinese are not known for their generosity when it comes to a buck.

There's a Russian report that the sabotage was done by Tatars and Ukrainian nationalists.

Ukraine and Russia clash again over gas pricing



MOSCOW: -- Another round in the almost annual row over gas pricing has begun between Russia and Ukraine.

Russian exporter Gazprom has announced its halting deliveries to Kyiv until it receives a new prepayment.

In response, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniuk says the country will look elsewhere for supplies.

“We’ve taken this decision primarily because we’ve received better offers from our European partners which were significantly better than those from our eastern neighbour.”

For now Kyiv says it doesn’t need any more Russian gas and will guarantee the transit of piped Russian gas bound for Europe.

The European Commission says it is not concerned right now, even though it relies on Russia for about a third of its gas.

Moscow and Kyiv have clashed repeatedly over recent years and Russia’s annexation of Crimea has severely strained ties.

Tensions put under renewed pressure by Ukraine’s decision to close its airspace to Russian flights.

Actually it was Ukrainian company Naftogaz, who stopped buying from Gazprom, following Ukrainian prime minister order on 25 November...so Ukraine did not make new order for the gas and, for sure, Gazprom will not supply without order
