Why do some farang act like they own thailand? Jealousy of chinese tourists

Featured Replies

So you usually will read comments like this. Usually in news topics about how thailand will build better relations with china or news topics on inviting more chinese tourists etc and you will read comments like oh great these irritating chinese pests or something like oh look at how cheap they are forgetting that there are many cheapo farang around. In short acting like they own thailand when they are simply guests in the country which is the same as the chinese tourists.

FYI china and thailand are next to one another obviously they have a lot in common in terms of culture, religion etc What makes you think thailand shouldn't try to get china to invest and have more chinese ppl in thailand. All because you have some type of biasness towards china due to the past when your countries couldn't totally colonize the country for example that sort of thing.

Lot of people with strong opinions could it be that the western press beat up the Chinese over what appears to be expansion plans in the South China seas?

Actually most of those opinions are just fed everyday with biased reporting, might surprise you how many people really don't think for them selves and are just a product of a system.

Yes, Chinese tourists often seem to do "this or that. So do other groups.

The subtle bigotry and Eurocentrism apparent on so many TVF posts comes naturally from those of the majority of certain countries. Those who grew up wearing a cloak of white priveledge and are unable to understand the experiences of those who did not.

Chinese travel blogs and forums are probably similarly full of rank generalizations and biased negative statements about westerners.

I go to the gym at a 5 star hotel on Sathorn Road. Today i had a breakfast business meeting at Conrad adjacent to the US Embassy. A large percentage of high spending guests at both hotels were Chinese from the mainland (english accent bit different from HK & Singapore).
