PHNOM PENH, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Senate of Cambodia on Friday lashed out at the European Parliament and an Australian senator for calling on the Cambodian government to revoke the arrest warrant for the country's opposition leader Sam Rainsy.

"The spokesman for the Senate considers the calls by the European Parliament and Australian senator (Scott Ludlam) as the interference of internal affairs and the violation of sovereignty of Cambodia," senator Mam Bun Neang, spokesman for the Senate, said in a statement.

He said the arrest warrant issued on Nov. 13 for Rainsy, president of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), was not political, but personal between Rainsy and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong.

"The spokesman for the Senate hopes the European Parliament and the Australian senator respect the principles of democracy and rule of law and should clearly learn about the real situation in Cambodia," the spokesman said.

The European Parliament on Thursday passed a resolution demanding the Cambodian government to revoke the arrest warrant and all charges issued against Sam Rainsy and CNRP members.

Sam Rainsy is currently in self-imposed exile to avoid a two-year prison sentence over a 2011 conviction for defaming Hor Namhong.

Cambodia is not a democratic country, ruled by the strong arm gangster Hun Sen and his private army for 20 odd years, the elections are rigged, so as to keep sam rainsy out of power, now they trump up some charge that was dropped a few years ago, Hun Sen does,nt want him back in the country. Cut back on western aid, most of goes in the army and hun sens pockets anyway, have you ever seen so many range rovers, hummers, lexus and other luxury cars in a small 3rd world country!

That sounds a lot like Prayut's playbook.

Scott Ludlam, a nobody from the Green's party, what he has to say is of little insignificance and has no sway on the Australian Government. He is from the left and is one of those who wants open borders, to let everyone and anyone into the country, without checks and balances, and some one has taken his ramblings seriously. The male equivalent to the other Green's embicile, Senator Sarah Hanson-Young. They call thenselves green but they are actually redder than red.

Which has exactly what to do with what is happening in Cambodia. Try commenting on the message.

Ludlum and the EU are correct.

Just a little background on him and I did comment on the subject but like always you never read anything fully. The EU should look in it's own backyard first and so should Ludlam. Your opinion.

My opinion is exactly as I stated. I agree with them.

The topic is about what is happening in cambodia, not what you think about Ludlum nor the EU cleaning up its own backyard.

So what is it that you do not agree with?
