Rule number one:- Do NOT overstay!!

Safest would be to get a visa.

First hurdle will be the airline, many will not let you board without either a visa or onward air travel within 30 days.

Assuming you got on the flight, immigration on arrival would be no problem :D

Should you get stopped by the police on your last (overstay) day you could be detained and deported (even for one day over) :o

Immigration on the way out should be no problem (1st day always used to be free at Don Muang), pay the fine, get the red stamp.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

While not wishing to encourage overstaying - if its just one day, I personally would worry about it. But to be safe, you can go round to any Immirgation office, where they are at liberty to give you 7 extra days on ANY type of visa you have.

Just go along with your plane ticket and explain the situation - I am certain it will be accepted as a quite reasonible situation.

Tim, have you forgotten that for the original poster to be able to do that he must first be able to board the plane and fly to Thailand? Best to deal with the potential problems in chronological order.
