One of my daughter's grandparents were on and wants to send them money over the holidays. Asking that's it's in their own account if possible.

What;s the deal with children having their own bank accounts here? I honestly can't remember.

As minors they can't open bank accounts in their own names. They would be able to open them in the format of child by parent,

eg Little Smile by Father Smile or Little Smile by Mother Smile.

You can't normally get an ATM card until about 15. However, internet banking is possible, so you could then transfer online to your account and use your ATM
