For how long can I leave between my double entry visa?

Featured Replies

Can't find the answer anywhere. Even immigration people simply did not understand my question and I gave up.

I have a double entry tourist visa. So I stay 60 days, extend for 30 more, then I have to leave. I want leave for about 3 months and then come back for 60+30 again.

Does anyone know the rules regarding this? Thanks.

What is the "enter before" date on the visa, that is when you have to come back by for the second entry.

Look at the visa. You need to make your second entry before the "enter before" date shown on the visa. In most cases that would be three months from when it was issued by the consulate or embassy. If you were in Thailand for 60 + 30 days already, if you wait three more months the visa will most probably have expired.

thanks! Looks like the way its set up, I need to exit BEFORE 90 days and be back in right away. Issued on Nov2, 'enter before' date is Feb2. Gives no time to bounce around inbetween.

Yea I done that mistake, in aussie the "enter before" date is calculated 90 days from when you get the visa issued. I try to apply just before I am about to board the plane to come here. Then its 60 days and then the extension for 30 days (which may only be about 25 days) Then one of those Cambodia runs.

Yup, it's their way of penalising you for even thinking of spending your money elsewhere.

You will need a second visa if you use up your 60 day and 30 day stay that visa is done...U can get another one while u r away for 3 months.

Why don't you post this on the Thai Visas, Residency and Work Permits forum? There are some real experts over there, for whom a definitive answer to your question would be a piece of cake.

Well, you could bounce around and then return to Thailand using a visa exempt entry (30 days for G7 nationals, 15 days for others at a land border, 30 days for all if you fly in) which could be extended for an additional 30 days or you could get a new single entry tourist visa at a neighboring country before returning to Thailand.

When a visa expires, it expires, regardless of the forum in which you post the question.
