Hottest chili in the world ? Do you believe ? Bhut jolokia ? Can you compare with Thai chili ?

Featured Replies

Hello, Thai chili are for kids and I cannot find anything in this world spicy enough for me, but maybe this is the one ?

Do you know it ? Have you ever found anything as spicy in Thailand (if it is really spicy!).

And in case you want to understand why drinking water is stupid when food is too spicy:

Thank you.

Ive tried it....its available in powder and dried form in singapore. Got a nice dry smoky taste to it. And certainly lives up to the press it gets.

The trick is to use less of it than you normally would with normal red chilli spices.

Its way ahead of cayenne and jalapeno on the heat factor....but i wouldnt seek it out to do a repeat.

A novelty product for me.

All you have to do is look up "Ghost Pepper Challenge" on YouTube. This was a hit about two years ago.

Haberneros and jalapenos are enough for me, too much chili and the food loses any flavor.

The Komodo Chilli went on sale (£1) in Tesco UK this summer.. I wasn't able to get any before they sold out. They are rated at 1.4 Sc.. I was hoping to get some so I could cultivate the seeds.

I've been growing chillies for some time now, but this is the first time I tried to grow them in Thailand.

I've got my crop on the go of Scotch Bonnet and Serrano chillies.
The Serrano Chilli are not so hot but have a full chilli flavour, and work well in Salads.

The Scotch Bonnets I grew in the UK this summer were a bit underwhelming at least until the last flowering that came in late summer. I'm hoping they'll be hotter when grown over here. I think they tend to get hotter on older plants.

The hottest chillies I grew were unlabelled but they were super hot, and somewhat dangerous as I found out when I tried to make chilli sauce without gloves.. I looked like Birds eye chillis but they seemed a bit too hot for that
