Is any temporary extension possible on a Non Imm B visa?

Recommended Posts

I had a Tourist Visa that was changed to a single entry Non Imm B visa at Chaeng Wattana Immigration.

The permission of stay started on 5th October 2015, and ends on 2nd January 2016.

We were planning to apply for an EXTENSION OF STAY this month.

However, according to my employer's lawyer such extension cannot be applied for

as the company would not meet the salary requirements for the extension.

The matter is such that, due to some cash flow problems, the salary over November 2015,

for all staf, were paid out at only 50%. This includes my salary.

Therefore, the salary documents and tax declarations for that month would show

an inadequate amount.

We understand that the company will have to submit such documents for the application of

extension of stay, including over November 2015 (application in December 2015).

It thus appears an application for extension of stay cannot be submitted at this time.

(Is the above in fact correct?)

My question: is there any possiblity that I could apply for some kind of temporary extension

on my current single entry Non Imm B visa?

Or are there other solutions available?

Many thanks!!

  • Yes there are minimum salary requirements to qualify for an extension of stay.

There is no temporary extension available unless you are married or are a parent.

If the extension of stay isn't completed before your permit to stay expires you will need to leave and get a new non 'B' visa.

Thanks for the above replies.

I would qualify for the minimum salary requirements, however, due to only partial pay-out (50%) over November,

(due to company cashflow problems) this would show in the company tax documents to be submitted with the application and I would therefore

not meet the requirements and the "extension of stay" would probably not be granted.

It seems I will have to go and apply for new Non Imm B visa before 2nd January 2016.

Is it possible in my situation to apply for a re-entry permit and then use that permit?

Would that give me permission to stay into 2016?

As mentioned above, I am now on a single entry Non Imm B visa (Tourist Visa changed to Non Imm B at Chaeng Wattana on 5th October 2015),

and I am "admitted" until 2nd January 2016. The visa is now stamped as "USED".

Thanks for any replies.

You can obtain a re entry permit but it will not add any extra days to your "admitted until date".

Unfortunately that wouldn't help as the re-entry permit would only be good until Jan 2nd.

@Singerman + elviajero

Thanks for the replies!!!

I'll just have to make a visa trip then to get new non imm B.

Another question then:

The MFA website states that one needs 2 photographs 4x6 cm.

The Savannakhet Consulate website states 3x4 cm.

Anyone know which it actually is?

(I can get both sizes of course, and I probably will to be on the safe side).

Savannakhet want two 3.5 X 4.5 cm photos as shown on this application form.

They will be open on the 4th of January. But you can be sure they will be busy after being closed on the 31st and 1st.

Thanks!!

I will get some new photographs then, as I now still have 4x6 from last time.

I plan to go to Savannakhet some time next week.
