I was thinking of going back to Melrose Ave (in Los Angeles) on a trip back to the US but it may not make sense. A pair of jeans will cost $150 on the low end here, more likely $200 and up. Granted they are the top designed clothes you can find anywhere, with great fits and designs beyond generic stuff at Siam Paragon and other malls in Thailand.

But seeing as those items are probably being made somewhere here before going to the US maybe I need to check out a more fashionable place in Asia. I hear Japan is top notch but don't have specific places in mind. And are they able to accommodate foreigners? Anywhere else I should consider?

Thanks for any suggestions

Maybe Koreans....

They actually are thought to be the founding "race" for Japan and tend to be a little bigger....

They are probably the most copied/emulated styles in Asia today....

I'd put the Japanese second in that category.....

Two distinctive copied styles....

Thank God the sh*t styles from the US hasn't caught on....

Based upon my contemporary dress-style taste observations, of working-class women, on the streets. Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul & Singapore (especially within the financial districts, between 11:00 - 13:30) are, without a doubt, Asia's most diverse, daily runway fashion show events. For those given more to the nite-life preference, then Macau gets my vote thumbsup.gif, particularly on the high-end "sophisticated-class" of dress-style presentations. As to where the actual fashion capitol of Asia is located, is another "up-to-you" toss-up question, as usual.
