PATTAYA: -- A street dog was viciously attacked with a knife and suffered severe facial injuries but thanks to the kindness of the Pattaya Press Association President, he was sent to a Dog Hospital in East Pattaya and is now recovering.

The incident took place in front of the Bus Terminal in North Pattaya and the man armed with the knife was not apprehended and remains at-large. The Police were contacted and vow to charge the suspect with animal abuse charges when caught.

Khun Amporn, the Pattaya Press Association President, heard about the incident and decided to offer financial assistance so the dog could be treated and be given the best chance of making a full recovery as possible.

Oh geez... Some people surely must not have a shred of compassion or decency. Who could do that to a dog?

I wonder if they are going to hold the dogs passport until he pays the bill. (I'm being facetious) coffee1.gif

You are just being a <deleted>.... which part of this statement do you not understand? "Khun Amporn will continue to finance the care of the dog until he is able to be released."

good on you mr.amporn you are a true gentleman SIR.

A friend of mine rescued a dog he saw being abused, some Thais were virtually flaying him (skinning him) alive. It cost 25,000 to get him fixed and he is now part of my friends pack of dogs totaling about 5 I think.

I suppose I could if a rabid soi dog was attacking me.

But probably the canine cuddling crowd will insist I should proffer myself to the dog and have my face ripped off?

I would - if he badly bit me, my wife or child. Probably I would have killed it though.

There's a very good chance this dog did bite someone. There's a lot of rabid street dogs around.

Pattaya has a press association?

Well done, Mr Amporn, but it's a pity that this situation should ever have to arise. Perhaps you might like to put some effort into changing the Thai mindset about stray dogs, if you want to help. (I don't mean this sarcastically, btw.)
