Surapong Tovichakchaikul: PM’s two songs should be added as an achievement

THAILAND -- Former deputy prime minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul of the Pheu Thai party said Wednesday that the government should have designated the two songs written by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha as an achievement of the government for the past year.

In cynical tone, he said he really meant it that the two songs, Returning Happiness to the Thai People and Because You are Thailand, are worthy for designation as an achievement which, he pointed out, does not need an opinion poll to give them a rubber stamp of support like the other opinion polls which were mostly distorted to appease the government.

Surapong further said that the two songs could win awards in singing contests locally and internationally and the popularity of the prime minister would soar skyhigh.

Democrat deputy leader Kiat Sitthi-amorn, meanwhile, admitted he didn’t want to give scores to the government’s achievements whether they passed the tests or not and would prefer the people to make the judgement.

Economically, he said the achievements still fall short of expectations. “There is nothing tangible yet, he said, citing global oil price cuts whereas in Thailand the prices only slightly dropped.

Former Democrat MP for Bangkok Atthawit Suwanpakdee said the only outstanding achievement concerned security whereas economic accomplishment was so so.

"

LOL !

I do agree, those two songs might be listed as achievements, and the government is indeed short of achievements.

I guess a little re-adjustment session awaits Surapong.

Aah, Mr Surapong going 'cynical', developping a sense of humour now, while guys like Chalerm and Plodprasop, just to name two, do their best to stay under the radar...

Not realising the newly introduced case by Thaksin about 'his' passports might well boomerang in his neck, as he was the FA PTP Minister issuing those, for it especially, and very briefly, re-opening the passports dept building, while it had been closed because of the floods, and then, travelling abroad to personally deliver these new passports, to a convicted criminal on the run, his own cousin, Thaksin, further not appearing after several summons by the Ombusdman about the matter...

P.S.: as for the songs, IMO, it would be polite not to comment about.

Thaksin's cousin-in-law should crawl back under his rock and keep his mouth shut.

He should be too worried about the passport fiasco to stick his neck out like this. I just read about it again on google and this guy is an arrogant toad of the highest order.

Please don't be rude to toads.

Mr. John, if there is one arrogant toad, than it is your lover boy, the Gen himself. Never heard nor seen a more arrogant person as him, so please try to google him.....

I mean his love of the big uncle Too is justified as he has penned(whistling.gif ) not one but two songs as gifts for the nation, and he has 99.3% satisfaction of the Thai people, we know this as we have been told this by ehh, uummm,, a poll that shall remain nameless.

A crawler supreme or what ?

As a personality cult expands it reduces the chances of a certain person going anytime soon.

Sorry, mate, I think you missed that it was sarcasm by Surapong. Easy to miss, as sarcasm is rare.

If a TVF member had said the same thing, you would, of course have got it immediately.thumbsup.gif

Amazing that a post on a thread about Gen P's songs can contain a post 98% dedicated to Thaksin. Think some junta fanboys actually get orgasmic at the thought of him.

Yet another one who didn't (want to?) make the link with (Thaksin's cousin) Surapong.
